The photographic project “Mind and Measure” comes from a trip I took in southern Italy in January 2017. I visited some areas hit by a violent earthquake. The photographs in this series investigate the relationship between the subjective role of the photographer and the most radical objectivity. The ruins of the earthquake constitute and represent a reality that goes beyond the object. The ruins, the rubble and the debris are the bottom and the extreme limit of reality. This photographic series investigates the ideal continuity between a daily life that repeats itself and the event of the earthquake that breaks into the flow of normality. The latest images in the series show an abusive building built inside an archaeological site. Historical events and natural disasters are both elements that can be found in architecture.
